Privacy Policy

Between (“Between,” “we,” “us”) provides a white-label SAT practice platform that tutoring companies run under their own name and web address. This policy explains what data the platform handles and how. It covers this website (getbetween.io) and the platform we operate for tutoring companies.

1. Who is responsible for student data

Each tutoring company that uses Between (“the company”) decides which students, tutors and parents use its app and why. The company is responsible for that data (the data controller). Between processes it on the company’s behalf and only to run the platform for them (the data processor). Students and parents with questions about their data should contact their tutoring company first; we will help the company respond.

2. What the platform collects

• Account details: name, email address, role (student, tutor, parent link, owner), and Google account basics if someone signs in with Google.
• Learning data: practice and homework answers, scores, time on questions, bookmarks, mock test results and score history.
• Tutor notes and messages a tutor chooses to share with a parent, and parent replies.
• Technical data needed to run and secure the service, such as sign-in sessions and error reports.

On this website we collect only what you send us, for example when you email us or book a call.

3. How data is used

• To provide the platform to the company and its students, tutors and parents.
• To show progress to the student, their tutors, the company and linked parents.
• To send account emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets) and notifications the company has turned on.
• To keep the service secure, fix problems and count student sign-ups for billing the company.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student data for advertising.

4. Students under 18

Many students on the platform are minors. Students use the platform through their tutoring company, which is responsible for obtaining any consent required from parents or guardians. We collect only what is needed to provide the service. A parent or guardian can ask the company, or us at hello@getbetween.io, to review or delete a child’s data.

5. Who we share data with

• The tutoring company the account belongs to, and the tutors and parents it links to a student.
• Service providers that host and run the platform for us: Supabase (database and sign-in, United States) and Vercel (website hosting), plus an email delivery provider for account emails. They process data only on our instructions.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

Each company’s data is kept in its own database, separate from other companies.

6. Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed by our sign-in provider, and access inside each company’s app is limited by role. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we handle and will tell affected companies promptly if a breach affects their data.

7. Keeping and deleting data

We keep a company’s data while it uses Between. When a company stops using the platform, we delete or return its data on request. Individual accounts can be deleted on request through the company or by emailing us.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell companies about significant changes.
